Old soul, new tricks
High ceilings, soaring arches, layers of old paint. JAM Ghent’s rooms hold on to their past and make something new of it. Housed in a listed building, the rooms were designed by Lionel Jadot and a collective of Belgian makers to feel like an artist’s workshop: raw, expressive, perfectly imperfect. Every room is built with sustainability and comfort in mind, and comes fully equipped with TV, coffee machine, kettle and AC.
JAM Ghent was carefully rennovated and restored and awarded a BREEAM very good label. We do not have a gas connection—all heating/cooling is provided by a heat pump, including hot water and cooking. We use carbon-free or zero fossil fuel energy production and our electricity contract is based on 100% green electricity.
Our bathrooms are flush with Belgian fittings by RVB and we installed low-flow taps, showers, flushes and urinals.
Our technical installations stay exposed, we do not use resources to hide them, which also allows us greater flexibility if modifications are needed, all without demolition.
